Aleksander Kwasniewski served as president of Poland from 1995 to 2005, leading its transition from communism. He also led the campaigns establishing a new constitution and gaining Polish admittance to the European Union and NATO. He was a Distinguished Scholar in the Practice of Global Leadership Program at Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service from 2006 to 2010.
