Enes Karić is a professor of Qur’anic studies at the Faculty of Islamic Studies of the University of Sarajevo. Karic previously served as minister of education, science, culture and sport for the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1994 to 1996. His many publications include a two-volume translation of the Qur’an with commentaries in Bosnian and Essays on (Behalf of) Bosnia (1999). He has also translated numerous works from other languages into Bosnian. Karić earned his B.A. at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, M.A. at the University of Sarajevo, and Ph.D. at Belgrade University; he also studied at al-Azhar University, Yale University, and the University of Oxford.
