Faith and Education in Cambodia Meeting
Wednesday, August 7, 2013
On June 17, 2013, World Faiths Development Dialogue (WFDD) hosted a lunch meeting in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, to discuss the research for WFDD’s upcoming report ‘Faith and Education in Cambodia’. Ten participants joined the meeting facilitated by WFDD research fellow Laura Hodges. Participants represented diverse backgrounds and professions; these included international development workers, religious leaders, scholars, social entrepreneurs and officials of the Ministry of Cult and Religion (MoCR) and Ministry of Education Youth and Sport (MoEYS). The three major faith groups in Cambodia - Buddhism, Christianity and Islam - were represented. The meeting invited participants to learn more about the research through a short presentation, ask questions, and provide their own responses and discuss next steps for research and action.
