Carlos Martínez Ruiz was a program associate for the Guatemala mapping project at WFDD from August 2015 to July 2016. He has worked in development and communications in nonprofit organizations serving immigrant communities in the United States. Carlos has also conducted fieldwork in Philadelphia, Venezuela, and Perú, analyzing the intersections of medicine, history, and society. At WFDD, Carlos pursed his interest in research and global development while taking a break from his doctoral work in Latin American history. He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. from Brandeis University, both in cultural anthropology.
