In February 2018, WFDD and the Hewlett Foundation supported the efforts of the Cadre des Religieux pour la Santé et le Développement (CRSD), a Senegalese interfaith association, to conduct an endline monitoring and evaluation (M&E) program. Since 2014, CRSD has been working to promote maternal and child health by encouraging family planning in line with religious teachings. The endline M&E involved qualitative focus groups with married individuals and interviews with religious leaders to better understand if and how religious beliefs influence perceptions of family planning. This document contains excerpts from the focus group discussions and interviews with religious leaders that reveal the diverse perspectives held on family planning in Senegal.
