Faith actors play increasingly visible roles in Niger’s social and economic development, yet their contributions are often poorly understood and are rarely fully reflected in the development strategies of the government and its partners. Religious leaders draw on their authority to shape national dialogues around education, health, and gender equality. Faith-inspired organizations (FIOs) play particularly important roles in engaging with sensitive social and cultural issues such as child marriage and family planning. This brief provides an overview of initiatives that address education, gender, and health in Niger.
