This meeting report records the outcomes of WFDD's World Sports Values Summit for Peace, held in July 2013. The summit brought together young athletes, leaders, and academics in Tokyo, Japan for forward-looking and rigorous conversations about the values that the world of sport can advance. The summit, under the auspices of the governor of Tokyo and the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, was supported by the International Sports Promotion Society, Worldwide Support for Development, and WFDD. It emphasized the key principles of respect, excellence, and friendship drawn from the Olympic tradition while emphasizing their alignment with Japanese cultural values.
