World Sports Values Summit for Peace and Development 2014

From May 22-24, 2014, the World Sports Values Summit for Peace brought together young athletes, leaders, and academics in New York City for conversations about the values that the world of sport can advance. Participants discussed the ways in which young people are embracing sport as a tool to help reach personal objectives and bring about community, national, and international development. They also discussed sport's value in helping to address some of the challenges that arise from humanitarian crises in both conflict and post-conflict settings. The summit was supported by the International Sports Promotion Society, Worldwide Support for Development, World Faiths Development Dialogue, housed at Georgetown University, and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
