Faizan Mustafa is the vice-chancellor of the National
Academy of Legal Studies and Research, located in Hyderabad, India. Previously, he was the founder and vice-chancellor
of National Law University, Orissa. Mustafa also served as a dean, professor of
law, and registrar at Aligarh Muslim University. The author of several books
and numerous papers, he has worked in unexplored areas of law, including religious
conversion laws, strict liability law, and freedom of information law. Mustafa received
his undergraduate degree and LL.M. with distinction from Aligarh Muslim University.
He completed his Ph.D. in copyright law and also received a diploma in
international and comparative human rights from the International Institute of
Human Rights, Strasbourg, France.
