Heer’e Hassan (C’22) graduated from Georgetown University in 2022 with a double major in government and sociology and a minor in public health. Her experiences as an Oromo-American have become a catalyst for her work in social good. She worked alongside Georgetown alumni on the setup of a social enterprise that enables mass screenings globally, in the effort to combat cardiovascular diseases worldwide. Heer’e’s commitment to making a social impact also extended to her responsibilities at Georgetown's Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching and Service. As a tutor and mentor, she prepared students for the academic and professional world. Heer'e was a 2021 Doyle Undergraduate Fellow.
