Although she was originally hired to teach business studies, Leanne te Brake has been a religious education teacher at De La Salle Holy Cross College since 2009. In addition to those secondary level classes, she currently teaches accounting and library orientation and runs the school’s religious youth group. She joined the faculty here after working for a couple of years in business management, where she was unsatisfied until she discovered a passion for teaching kids while working as a coach and tutor. She was present at the Jesuit Institute of South Africa’s presentation and had several discussions with students about the program inside and outside the classroom in the days and weeks afterwards.
