Charles Taylor Discusses Meditation and the Lives of Faith Today

April 15, 2015
5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. EDT
Location: Healy Hall Riggs Library Map

Meditation lies at the intersection of religion and secularity, modernity and authenticity. Charles Taylor, one of the world’s leading scholars of these topics, lectured on the connection between meditation and faith in modern society. A practicing meditator in the Roman Catholic tradition, Taylor began the evening’s event with a short meditation. Fr. Laurence Freeman, O.S.B., moderated a discussion after the formal lecture.
This John Main Lecture was co-sponsored by the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs; John Main Center for Meditation and Inter-religious Dialogue; and the Library Associates.
