Why have women not contributed as much as men to the literature discussing the theories and practice of interreligious dialogue? Theologian Maura O'Neill and Chaplain Sharon Kugler examined the role of women in dialogue. In an environment long dominated by patriarchy, they spoke about the challenges for women in dialogue and about the special talents and viewpoints that women bring to interreligious dialogue.

About Sharon Kugler

Sharon Kugler became the seventh University Chaplain to Yale in July 2007 after serving at Johns Hopkins University since 1993; she is the first woman, first layperson, and first Roman Catholic to hold this position. Kugler is also a lecturer of interreligious engagement and chaplaincy at the Yale Divinity School.

About Maura O'Neill

Maura O'Neill is professor emerita at Chaffey College in southern California, where she received the Meritorious Service Award in 2010. She is the author of two books on women in interreligious dialogue: Mending a Torn World (2007) and Women Speaking, Women Listening (1990). O'Neill has a Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion from Claremont Graduate University.
