John Esposito, the founding director of the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown University, was a leading global scholar of the study of religion and international affairs. Esposito participated in several Berkley Center events, including "Muslim Minorities and Religious Freedom: A Public Dialogue" and "Islam and American Politics: Deepening the Dialogue."

Bill passed away recently at the age of eighty. A brilliant business leader who built the W. R. Berkley Corporation from humble beginnings into a global insurance powerhouse, Bill's success was matched by his generosity as a philanthropist.
