Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad (also known as Timothy Winter) is the Shaykh Zayed Lecturer in Islamic Studies at Cambridge University and director of studies in theology at Wolfson College Cambridge. He is also Aziz Foundation Professor in Islamic Studies and dean of Cambridge Muslim College, which he helped found. His ongoing research interests include Sufism and the development of the Ottoman learned institution, computerized hadith databases, and Muslim-Christian relations. His book Bombing without Moonlight (2008) won the King Abdullah I Prize for Islamic Thought in 2007. He was editor of The Cambridge Companion to Classical Islamic Theology (2008). Murad has previously been involved in the Sunna Project; he was a signatory to "A Common Word Between Us and You."
