Adam Barton graduated from Georgetown College in 2016 with a major in Spanish and Portuguese studies and a minor in education, inquiry, and justice. After spending an unforgettable summer teaching English in southeastern Brazil in 2013, Adam returned to Brazil in summer 2014 to study the Opus Prize-winning international community health organization Pastoral da Criança through the Berkley Center's Education and Social Justice Fellowship. Researching best practices in early childhood and maternal community health education, Adam traveled to Curitiba and Recife to conduct interviews with key stakeholders in the Pastoral network. Adam also spent the spring 2015 semester conducting research in Brazil.
