Amy E. Eckert is an associate professor of political science at the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her interests in teaching and research focus on international relations, particularly international ethics and international law, including the just war tradition. She is the author of Outsourcing War: The Just War Tradition in the Age of Military Privatization (2016), and her work has also appeared in journals such International Studies Quarterly and the Journal of International Political Theory. She co-edits (with Steven C. Roach) a series titled Ethics and the Challenges of Contemporary Warfare, published by SUNY Press. She is currently section leader of the International Studies Association’s International Ethics section. Eckert holds a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, J.D. from the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law, and a Ph.D. from the University of Denver's Josef Korbel School of International Studies.
