Anatol Lieven teaches international politics at Georgetown University in Qatar. A former journalist, his expertise is in contemporary warfare, Islamist militancy and insurgency, and South Asia. His books include, among others, Ethical Realism: A Vision for America’s Role in the World (2006, with John Hulsman).
