Fr. Anthony Egan is a Jesuit priest with the Jesuit Institute of South Africa and a university lecturer in applied ethics at St. Augustine College of South Africa. Egan is the author of several papers and the books Signs of the Times: The Church and War in the 21st Century (2012) and The Politics of a South African Catholic Student Movement, 1960-1987 (1991). As a lecturer for the “Believing in Creation and Evolution” project, he addresses the relationship of evolution and Catholicism to high school students, speaking at De La Salle Holy Cross College and other schools. He received his Master'fs degree in history from the University of Cape Town and his Ph.D. in Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand.
