Arlete Mendes is the Recife sector coordinator for
Pastoral da Criança in the Archdiocese of Olinda-Recife in Pernambuco, Brazil.
A native of Recife, Mendes channeled her years of pedagogical
experience to establish Pastoral da Criança in her local parish, located in the
Engenho do Meio neighborhood. She now oversees the work of Pastoral da Criança in 40 parishes, encouraging local volunteers and providing administrative support.
