Aviel Roshwald has been on the faculty of Georgetown University's Department of History since 1991. His interests include twentieth century European history and the comparative history of ethnic politics and nationalism. He is the author of, among others, The Endurance of Nationalism: Ancient Roots and Modern Dilemmas (2006).
