Aydan Greatrick is the project and communications coordinator for the Refugee Hosts project. In addition to supporting the project, his research focuses on the roles that gender and sexuality play in determining responses to and engagements with refugees, with particular reference to refugees from Syria in Turkey and Europe. He is also interested in examining the role history and narrative play in the formation of humanitarian ideas, policy, and practice. In addition to his Refugee Hosts position, Greatrick is a projects assistant at the Centre for Transnational Development and Collaboration, helping with the day-to-day management of different grassroots-led advocacy and development projects that seek to empower marginalized communities across the Middle East and North Africa. He has a B.A. with honors in history from the University of Cambridge and an M.Sc. in global migration from University College London.
