Baba Iqbal Singh is the leader of the Kalgidhar Society in India, an organization that works for education reform and equality. He directed the society to implement the mission of "combining modern education with faith to produce good global citizens." The society currently serves over 60,000 students in over 75 affiliated schools in rural India. Recently, Baba Iqbal Singh has been working for women's empowerment through education, and has helped developed education and training centers dedicated to helping impoverished women in rural areas. Now over 84 years old, he is working toward the short term goal of 150 schools by 2013 and a longer term goal of 500 schools.
