Billy Collins is a distinguished poet who has authored 12 collections of poetry. As poet laureate of the United States in 2002, Collins wrote a commemorative poem for the first anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and read it aloud before a joint session of Congress.
