Carolyn Baugh is associate professor of history and Arabic at Gannon University in Erie, Pa. Her publications include Minor Marriage in Early Islamic Law (2017), a translation and critical edition of Ibn Khaldūn’s Sufi treatise (forthcoming from NYU Press), as well as various articles and three novels. She directs the Women’s Studies Minor and a refugee oral history program.
