Chinmayee Venkatraman graduated from Georgetown's School of Nursing and Health Studies in 2015 with an international health major and aspirations of working in the field of maternal-child health as an OB/GYN. A native of Dallas, Texas, her original internship abroad during the fall 2014 semester was cancelled due to Ebola in the surrounding region, so she completed her internship during the spring 2015 semester in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and blogged for the Junior Year Abroad Network.
