Christian van Gorder is an associate professor of religion at Baylor University, where his research focuses on Muslim and Christian interactions. Prior to coming to Baylor, van Gorder taught at Messiah College for seven years and in western China at Yunnan University for six years. He has also worked for Open Doors, a human rights organization serving persecuted Christians based in the Netherlands. His most recent work, Islam, Peace, and Social Justice (2014), examines challenges to social justice within the Muslim world from a Christian perspective. Van Gorder received his Ph.D. from the Queen's University of Belfast, Ireland.
