Cian O’Driscoll is a senior lecturer
in politics at the University of Glasgow whose work focuses on the ethics of peace and war, including the just war tradition. O’Driscoll’s publications include The
Renegotiation of the Just War Tradition and the Right to War in the 21st
Century (2008) and Just War:
Authority, Tradition, Practice (2013, as co-editor), as well as articles in International Studies Quarterly, Review
of International Studies, Ethics & International, Affairs,
Millennium, International Relations, the Journal of Military Ethics,
and the European Journal of Political Theory. He is co-editor of two forthcoming volumes and is working on a
monograph entitled Triumph and Tragedy: The Victory of Just War.
O’Driscoll is a member of the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s Young Academy and co-convenor of the Glasgow Global Security Network. He completed his Ph.D.
in 2006 at the University of Wales, having previously studied at the University
of Limerick, Dalhousie University, and the University of Oslo.
