Douglas Laycock is the Robert E. Scott Distinguished Professor of Law and a professor of religious studies at the University of Virginia, where he is a leading scholar on the law of remedies and the law of religious liberty. Laycock is vice president of the American Law Institute and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
