Elvira Cordova de Cordova is a teacher at the public school in Los Pozos, Nueva Trinidad, Chalatenango in El Salvador. She began her career during the El Salvador civil war as one of the first popular teachers in the Chalatenango region. After studying, working, and caring for a family simultaneously for ten years, she received her teaching degree from the University of El Salvador in 1999. She remains committed to the school at which she began her work. She has held the position of school director on various occasions and has taught from preschool through ninth grade. She is currently an active member of the Los Pozos religious community, including leading church groups, singing in the choir, and helping organize mass for elderly citizens.
