Emerald Christopher-Byrd is an assistant professor of women's and gender studies at the University of Delaware and professorial lecturer of women's and gender studies at Georgetown University. Her current research focuses on racialized gendered borders of black womanhood that lead to institutional and sociocultural violence against black women.
