Greg Johnson is professor of religious studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he is director of the Walter H. Capps Center for the Study of Ethics, Religion, and Public Life. Johnson is a non-Native scholar of religion who studies the intersection of religion and law in Indigenous contexts with particular attention to burial protection, repatriation, and sacred land claims. He is co-author of Indigenous Religion(s): Local Grounds, Global Networks (2020).
