Hans Harmakaputra is a Ph.D. student of comparative theology at Boston College. As a Christian from Indonesia, the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, he wishes to pursue a more in-depth knowledge of both Christianity and Islam. In the past few years, Harmakaputra has been organizing "Christianity Studies for Muslim Scholars," where young Muslim college students live together with seminarians in Jakarta for a week, visit churches, and receive lessons about the Christian faith to increase interfaith understanding. Harmakaputra was a participant in the International Higher Education Interfaith Leadership Forum. He was also a part of Hartford Seminary’s International Peacemaking Program.
