Dr. Hansjörg Schmid is director of the Swiss Center for Islam and Society and Professor of Interreligious Ethics at the University of Fribourg. Co-founder of the international network Theological Forum Christianity – Islam, he acted as its coordinator from 2003 to 2014. Schmid studied Catholic theology at Freiburg, Jerusalem, and Basel, receiving his Ph.D. in New Testament studies in 2002.
