Hasan Ali Yurtsever

Dr. Hasan Ali Yurtsever is an instruction coordinator with Niagara Educational Services and an executive board member of the American Islamic College. From 2004-09 he has served as President of the Rumi Forum, which promotes interfaith and intercultural dialogue. He was a visiting professor at Florida International University in 2003 and then taught in the Georgetown University Math Department from 2004 to 2009. Yurtsever has a long history of participation in the Gulen movement, which began in Turkey under Fethullah Gulen and has spread globally; he has taught in Gulen-affiliated schools, including Fatih University in Istanbul, where he worked from 1999-2003. Yurtsever earned his BS from Boğaziçi University and M.S. and Ph.D. from Ege University. He participated in the symposium on “Global Development and Faith-Inspired Organizations in the Muslim World,” co-sponsored by the Berkley Center in December 2007.
