Heather Banis is a clinical psychologist who specializes in trauma, particularly in the lives of children. She first began working with the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in the Victims Assistance Ministry in 2005 and has served as the coordinator of that ministry since 2016. She additionally serves as a consultant to the USCCB Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People. Banis holds a master’s degree in theology and leadership from Gonzaga University and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California.
