Sr. Helen Prejean, CSJ, is a national and global leader in advocating opposition to the death penalty. She is the author of Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty (1993) which became a movie, an opera, and a play. She also wrote The Death of Innocents: An Eyewitness Account of Wrongful Executions (2005) and River of Fire: My Spiritual Journey (2019).
