Homa Sabet Tavangar is a public speaker and author of Growing Up Global: Raising Children to Be At Home in the World (2009). Tavangar also blogs for the Huffington Post; advises educational groups such as Barefoot Books, KidsHealth.org, and PBS Parents; and serves as an advisor for the Lincoln Foundation on corporate social responsibility. She previously worked as a consultant and business advisor for almost 20 years, helping governments, businesses, international organizations, and non-profit agencies address needs related to global competitiveness, organizational and business development, and cross-cultural issues. Born in Iran, Tavangar has lived in the Middle East, East and West Africa, South America, and throughout the United States. In addition to English, she speaks Persian (Farsi), Spanish, Portuguese, and rudimentary French and Swahili. She holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in international economics, international development, and public affairs from the University of California, Los Angeles and Princeton University.
