J. Eugene Clay is associate professor of religious studies at Arizona State University, where he writes and lectures about the history of Christianity and religious movements in Russia and Eurasia. His latest book is the edited volume Beasts, Humans, and Transhumans in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (2020).
