Janet Soskice is professor of philosophical theology and a fellow of Jesus College at the University of Cambridge. Soskice is a past president of the Catholic Theological Association of Great Britain and the Society for the Study of Theology; she has held a number of visiting professorships, including that of the McCarthy Visiting Professor at the Gregorian University in Rome. Her research interests include naming God, Jewish-Christian relations, and religious language. Her many publications include Sisters of Sinai: How Two Lady Adventurers Discovered the Lost Gospels (2009), Creation and the God of Abraham (2009, edited with David Burrell, Carlo Cogliati and William Stoeger), and Metaphor and Religious Language (1985). Soskice holds a B.A. from Cornell University, M.A. from the University of Sheffield, and D.Phil. from Oxford University.
