Father Jean Ilboudo, S.J. is the co-founder of the Center of Studies and Reflection for Students (le Centre d’Etude et de Réflexion pour Collégiens, Lycéens et Etudiants, CERCLE) in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. He is also the director of the Jesuit community in Ouagadougou. Ilboudo was ordained a priest in 1972, after studies in philosophy and theology; he later studied history at the University of Abidjan and received a Ph.D. at the University of Lyon. Ilboudo spent time in Italy, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire, and Kenya before being appointed as adjunct of the provincial of West Africa from 1993 to 1997, serving as provincial from 1997 to 2000. From 2000 to 2008 he served as an advisor to the Jesuit superior general regarding the Jesuits in Africa. He has lived in Burkina Faso since 2008.
