Dr. Jeffrey Klaiber, S.J., is professor of History at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and Antonio Ruiz de Montoya University (a private Jesuit institution) in Lima, Peru. An American Jesuit, he has served as a visiting professor at Georgetown University, Boston College, and St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia. Fr. Klaiber has been the recipient of numerous awards, honors, and grants and has published widely in the areas of Latin American history and Roman Catholicism, including The Church, Dictatorships, and Democracy in Latin America (2009). He earned his doctoral degree in History from the Catholic University of America in 1976.
