John
Katee is the psychosocial program manager for HIAS Refugee Trust of Kenya. He
holds a master’s in counseling psychology from Daystar University Kenya and a bachelor’s
degree in theology. He is a member of the Kenya Association of Professional
Counselors and holds various professional certificates in clinical and psychosocial
HIV programming, adherence counseling in HIV/AIDs management, rational use of
anti-retroviral therapy, cognitive focused trauma therapy, clinical management
of sexual violence, biostatistics, project planning, and monitoring and
evaluation.
Before joining HIAS he was a counseling psychologist with the Kenyan Independent Policing Oversight Authority, a psychosocial coordinator for Centre for Health Solutions Kenya, and formerly a counseling psychologist at the mental health clinic of Kenyatta National Hospital. John has a wide range of experience in clinical and psychosocial programming, both in the public and private sector. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at Kenyatta University in Kenya.
