John Katunga is regional technical advisor for peacebuilding and justice in east Africa for Catholic Relief Services (CRS). He is also the 2011 Catholic Relief Services fellow with the Kroc Institute for International Studies at the University of Notre Dame. Katunga is based in Nairobi, Kenya and provides technical assistance to CRS peacebuilding and justice programs in Ethiopia, Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Eritrea. Prior to joining CRS, Katunga served as acting director of Nairobi Peace Initiative-Africa. He is also a senior trainer with the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, where he provides leadeship training to government, military and police leaders in in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burundi.
