Jonathan Thrall graduated from Georgetown's School of Foreign Service in 2017 with a major in culture and politics and minor in Arabic. He is particularly interested in the political construction of exclusionary identities and has crafted his major concentration around the themes of power, narrative, and national identity, with special attention to France and the Middle East. In addition to his native English and French, Jonathan is fluent in Italian and Arabic; he studied Arabic abroad in Morocco and Jordan during the summer and fall of 2015, respectively. Over the summer of 2016, he studied the work of the Jesuit Refugee Service in Jordan through the Berkley Center's Education and Social Justice Fellowship; he was also a 2016-2017 Doyle undergraduate fellow. He has worked as a research assistant to Professor Yvonne Haddad of the Center for Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Muslim-Christian Understanding and as an SFS undergraduate scholar with Professor Marwa Daoudy of the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies.
