Joyce Toulouse is an active member of the Sagamok First Nation and has lived there nearly her entire life. A former retirement home nurse, she currently volunteers at St. Raphael Church in the Sagamok First Nation in Ontario, Canada. She collaborates with her community and the Anishinabe Spiritual Centre to help foster inclusive spaces and religious services that embrace all spiritual and cultural backgrounds. Toulouse spends most of her time helping to raise her grandchildren and ensure that they embrace their culture and recognize the strength of their community.
