Fr. Julio Martínez is the rector of Comillas Pontifical University (Universidad Pontificia Comillas) in Madrid. He joined the Jesuits after finishing high school, studying in Madrid and at Boston College. Prior to being appointed rector, he served as a vice-rector, director of the Institute for the Study of Migration, the chair of bioethics, and a professor of moral theology, all at Comillas. His research interests focus on the moral and ethical dimensions of religion in the public sphere.
