A native of Washington, D.C. Justine Underhill graduated from Georgetown in 2011 with a double major in economics and theater and performance studies, along with a minor in mathematics. She participated in the Berkley Center's Junior Year Abroad Network from Tokyo, Japan in the spring of 2010.
