Karen Corbiere-Genereux is the Zoongaabwe-Od Eshniig-Jik youth worker for the United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising Justice Program in M’Chigeeng First Nation. The Zoongaabwe-Od Eshniig-Jik Program was developed to help promote positive decision-making for young people aged 12 to 25, and Corbiere-Genereux works to create workshops and cultural teaching to help teach youth about their community and culture. She also works with the U-Turn program that fosters respect, equality, and acceptance for First Nation students. Corbiere-Genereux’s work helps students gain a positive self-image and take responsibility for their actions in a culturally respectful manner.
