Fr. Kevin O'Brien, S.J., is dean of Santa Clara University's Jesuit School of Theology. He previously was Georgetown's vice president for mission and ministry from August 2011 through July 2016, as well as a professorial lecturer in the Department of Theology and Jesuit-in-Residence in Copley Hall. Prior to that, he served as executive director of campus ministry at Georgetown from 2008 to 2011. O'Brien has also been an associate pastor at Holy Trinity Church in Washington, DC, taught at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, and assisted in Fordham University's Office of University Mission and Ministry. He is on the board of directors of the Washington Jesuit Academy. O'Brien is the author of The Ignatian Adventure: Experiencing the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius in Daily Life (2011). He holds an undergraduate degree from Georgetown, J.D. from the University of Florida, M.A. from Fordham University, and a master’s degree in divinity and a licentiate in sacred theology from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology.
